The project was implemented at two sites one in chitrakoot district of utter Pradesh and the another site in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh. However, both sites have been observed with similar kinds of production issues and challenges. Both regions were highly vulnerable to climate change, experiencing frequent drought, dry spells and rising spring temperature. Agriculture is the major source of livelihood. cultivators mainly grow rice and pegion pea during kharif season and wheat and chickpea during winter months. However, mustard has emerged as a cash crop in the region during the last 5 years.
